Wonton Chips (2 Ways – Air Fried and Baked)

These homemade wonton chips are a perfect replacement for regular chips. Use them as a base for poke nachos or serve on the side with guacamole and fire-roasted salsa!

Ingredients for Wonton Chips

  • Wonton wrappers: Pick out a wonton wrapper that is nice and thick. This will give you a thick chip that will be able to pick up a lot of dip or hold up well in nachos.
  • Cooking spray: I found that using a cooking spray such as PAM is easy to coat over the chips.
  • Seasoning: Season the chips with salt when they are hot out of the oven or fryer!

How to Make Baked Wonton Chips in the Oven

Making these wonton chips in a traditional oven is quick and easy. Take your wonton wrappers and cut them into your desired shape.

The best part about making your own chips is that you can make your homemade chips as large or as small as you’d like.

After cutting the chips, lay out a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet and coat with oil. Lay out your wonton wrapper and then place the baking sheet in a 350 degree preheated oven.

Bake the chips for 15 minutes, flipping the chips half-way through so they bake and crisp up evenly.

They will be golden brown when they come out of the oven and are finished baking.

Lay out your wonton wrappers and spray with cooking oil before baking.

How to Make Air Fryer Wonton Chips

Making these wonton chips in the air fryer is even faster than making than in the oven.

I used my Cusinart Toaster Oven Air Fryer to air fryer these chips.

After cutting the wonton wrappers into the desired size, I placed them in the air fryer basket and coated with a layer of cooking spray. I set the fryer to 400 and let them fry for about 7 minutes, or until I saw that they were golden brown.

Since air frying uses hot air to fry quickly, your wonton wrappers will likely get blown around their basket. The chips will still hold their shape, however, and will crisp up just the same.
