This Habanero Mango Salsa is always delicious and easy to make. There’s nothing that screams summer more than a fresh mango salsa, and it goes great with almost any summer dish you can think of. Top off grilled chicken, fish tacos or steak fajitas.

Intimidated by the mango but love how it tastes? Check out my demo on how to cut a mango.
Variations of Habanero Mango Salsa
This Mango Salsa has a couple of variations. Want to add more of a kick? Just add in the Habanero seeds. Looking to turn down the heat? Replace the Habanero with a Jalapeño instead. Another option is to add tomato and cucumber for a more hearty vegetable-based salsa that still has a crunch.
Whatever your variation might be, it’s never wrong to experiment a bit with this salsa recipe. It’s a fun way to add color to the plate.
Ingredients for Mango Salsa

Mango: Fresh, ripe mangoes are the essence of this recipe. Chop up and cube two mangoes.
Habanero: Known for its spicy flavor profile, this pepper kicks up anything you’re making with it. You can decide to add in or leave out the seeds.
Avocado: Cube the avocado and add it to your bowl with the mango. The fattiness of the avocado compliments the sweetness and tartness of the mango.
Red Onion: Freshly diced red onion adds zest to this side.
Lime juice: Citrus brightens the dish. Use fresh limes instead of canned lime juice for the best results.
Cilantro: This herb will work with the lime juice and compliment the mango, avocado and onion.
This mango salsa can be enjoyed as a side, condiment, dip or appetizer. Store the salsa in the fridge for up to three days in the fridge in an airtight container.
More Reasons to Love Mango Salsa:
- Healthy: This mango salsa recipe is incredibly healthy. It’s full of vegetables and fruits. Even though it tastes like an indulgence, the mangoes have a lot natural fiber and good-for-you vitamins that are not found in other foods, such as Vitamin A, C and Potassium. Avocados have healthy fats known as monosaturated fat.
- Easy: This is a dish that is easy to whip up and also easy to make ahead of time. Just dice your fruit and add your other ingredients, mix together and serve.
- Customizable: As stated above, there are lots of variations of this recipe. If you prefer more spicy, add in hot pepper. You can also add in more fruit, like pineapple or banana if you want it sweeter.
