Usually, you’ll see recipes for wings that are already defrosted, but if you totally forget to defrost your chicken you can use your handy air fryer to cook up dinner.

Toss together a chicken buffalo marinade and serve with celery sticks and bleu cheese dressing or ranch on the side.

How to Make Frozen Chicken Wings in Air Fryer

Making these frozen chicken wings in an air fryer is actually quite easy. The best part? Once you dig in, you won’t even be able to tell that you’re eating a previously frozen wing!

First, get out your air fryer and set it to 400. Spray the interior compartment with cooking oil and place your wings inside. Fry for 15 minutes and then flip them. After flipping, fry for 10 minutes on the other side. After the additional 10 minutes, open the compartment and spray with cooking oil and flip again. Fry for an additional 5 minutes. The skin should be crispy.

The wings will be ready to eat. Take them out with tongs and place them in a bowl. They are ready to be coated in seasoning.

Sauces for your Wings

After you fry your wings in your air fryer, or even cook them in the oven, you can now toss them in any kind of sauce. My favorite sauce to toss my wings in is a buffalo chicken marinade but I also enjoy switching it up and making a lemon pepper or a Korean sauce.

Buffalo Chicken Marinade

A favorite for chicken wings is buffalo sauce. While you can buy bottled sauce at the store, making your own at home is quite easy and only requires a couple ingredients.

A staple for homemade buffalo sauce is Frank’s RedHot sauce. it will give your sauce that signature buffalo flavor. Add in your spices, melted butter and Worcestershire sauce and mix well.

You can just use Frank’s hot sauce if you don’t have time to make your own buffalo sauce.

Is your buffalo sauce not hot enough? Add in some cayenne for a kick.

Ingredients:

If you do choose to make your own buffalo sauce, there are only a couple of ingredients that are needed for your own sauce.

  • Franks RedHot sauce: A necessary ingredient for that “buffalo” flavoring that everyone is after
  • White vinegar: A touch of white vinegar will amp up that Franks flavor a little bit.
  • Butter: Adding melted butter to the sauce will add a creaminess to the sauce that will have you licking your fingers.
  • Worcestershire sauce: The sauce will compliment the flavors and add a kind of “meatiness” to the buffalo marinade.
  • Spices: Add in garlic salt and white pepper to your buffalo marinade sauce. Taste and adjust seasonings if desired.
