The Disneyland grilled cheese is a favorite from Disneyland that was released on the official Disney website. Now you can make the same grilled cheese found at Toy Story Land at home!

This grilled cheese is incredibly oozy and gooey, and it has four different types of cheese in it. If you’re looking for a grilled cheese that will give you that picture-perfect cheese pull, this is definitely it. Now, I must warn you, none of these Disneyland foods are low calorie, low fat, or low carb. They’re hearty, feel-good classics.
While this recipe is one of the park’s most coveted recipes, Disneyland has also released a couple of other fan favorites. Among the released recipes were: at-home Dole Whip, Kona Cafe’s Tonga Toast and the Main Street Bakery’s Cinnamon’s Rolls.
The grilled cheese is made up of three main components: bread with a mayonnaise layer, a cream cheese spread, and cheese slices. I just wish I had a can of tomato soup to go with my sandwich.
How to Make a Disneyland Grilled Cheese
This is the original recipe Disneyland released makes four sandwiches, but this recipe is designed to make one Disneyland grilled cheese.
The grilled cheese only has three components to the sandwich, but they all need to be made separately. The good news is that they are all basic ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry and fridge. If not, they can easily be found at your local grocery store.
Make your mayonnaise spread, which consists of 1/4 cup of mayo, 1/2 teaspoon of crushed garlic and a pinch of salt. Mix it together and set it aside.
After making your mayo spread, make your cream cheese spread. Mix together 1/3 cup of cream cheese, 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and 1 tablespoon of heavy cream. After mixing it together, you are ready to make your grilled cheese!
Take a slice of your sourdough bread and layer it with half of your cream cheese spread and then add your 4 slices of cheese- 2 slices of provolone and 2 slices of cheddar cheese. Add the other half of the cream cheese spread. Now that you have a closed sandwich, add half of the mayo spread on each of the outsides of the sandwich. The mayo will help the sandwich brown and crisp up nicely. Another tip to helping the cheese on the inside of the sandwich melt is to cover the pan you are cooking it in.
Directions for a Disneyland Grilled Cheese:
- Prep all your spreads: create your mayonnaise spread (add your mayo to a bowl and add the garlic and salt) mix it together and set aside. Create your cream cheese spread by adding cream cheese, shredded cheddar and heavy cream into a bowl and mix.
- Lay out the bread and add half of the cream cheese mixture to each piece of bread. Place the cheese on top of the cream cheese spread. Close the sandwich.
- Brush the outside of the sandwich with the mayo spread.
- Place in a pan and heat on medium.
- It is ready when the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted.

Have you had the Disneyland grilled cheese and would you try to recreate it at home?
