Make these air fryer avocado fries as an easy side or a meatless way to add a filling to tacos. Dip your fries into a healthy ranch dressing or even a salsa!

Ingredients
- Avocado: The main ingredient in this recipe is of course, avocado!
- Egg: Using a lightly beaten egg is the perfect binder for the breadcrumbs.
- Breadcrumbs: You can choose to use panko breadcrumbs or Keto breadcrumbs. Both are equally delicious. The choice is yours!
- Cooking spray: A good cooking spray has become my secret weapon when it comes to air frying. Spray a little bit on top of your fries just before they go into your air fryer.
How to Make Avocado Fries
Making these avocado fries is quite simple and easy to whip up for yourself or for a conversation topic at a party.
After you have picked out your perfect avocados (see more about that below), cut your avocados in half and make 1/3 inch slices.
Since you are picking avocados that are not completely soft, you will be able to easily peel the skin away from the avocado flesh. You can also scoop out the fruit from the skin, but you will get a smoother product if you peel the skin away from the avocado.
After peeling the skin away, you will be left with a perfectly bare avocado. Now you are ready to slice.

Take your avocado slices and toss them in the lightly beaten egg and then coat in the breadcrumbs.

Take your air fryer basket and lightly coat the basket with a cooking spray so the fries won’t stick to it. Lay your fries flat and set your air fryer to temperature to 400 degrees. Fry for 10 minutes and flip half way through the frying process. The best air fryer for frying fries is the one I generally use, the Cuisinart Toaster Oven / Air Fryer combo. You can purchase it at Amazon.com.
After the fries are done, take them out of the air fryer and serve on a large plate or bowl. Serve with your choice of dressing or dip.
How to Make Baked Avocado Fries
If you don’t have access to an air fryer? You can use the oven instead!
Prepare the avocado the same way as if you were going to add it to an air fryer. Instead, add the avocado fries to a baking sheet and set your oven temperature to 375. Bake for 20 minutes and flip the fries half way through cooking.
Serve as normal.
How to Pick out Avocados for Avocado Fries
It’s best to use avocado(s) that are a bit on the underripe side. If your avocado is ripe enough to make guacamole, it’s too ripe to make these avocado fries.
Look for avocados that are *almost* soft, but the flesh is still soft enough to easily handle. Remember, you will be tossing the avocado slices in breadcrumbs and then putting them into the air fryer. The slices will have to stand up to a bit of handling, so you don’t want them to be too soft! Using a slightly underripe avocado will also give these air fryer avocado fries a nice snap to them when you bite into them.
